With the success of Chinese phone manufacturers in India, Indian mobile phone companies are also gaining momentum slowly. Ziox is an Indian mobile manufacturing company based in Delhi which makes both feature and smartphones. Because of Reliance Jio, many companies are launching VOLTE and LTE enabled phones at budget-friendly prices. Ziox Astra 4G is the cheapest Android phone that supports VOLTE. It will give tough competition to the LYF phones available in the Indian market.
Design and Display
Ziox Astra 4G has a 5-inch display with the screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. Being a low budget phone, it has a low pixel density of 196 ppi. It uses TFT display and is not protected by any scratch resistant display. The exact dimensions and weight of the device are currently not known.Since Ziox Astra 4G is a low budget phone, so don’t compare it to high range phones.
The area below the display lacks a physical home button but sports three capacitive keys with back key on the left side. The area above the display has an average 2MP front camera. The volume and power button lie on the right side of the device. Volume buttons lie on the top whereas power key is present below the volume buttons. The back of the device is removable and features 5MP rear camera with a LED flash. It has 2450mAH removable battery which obviously doesn’t support fast charging. There is a Ziox logo at the back of the device. The 3.5mm jack and microUSB 2.0 are located at the top of the device. It doesn’t support USB Type C. It is a dual SIM phone, which supports Indian bands. It also comes with a fingerprint sensor. Surprised? Well,NO, it doesn’t. We are just kidding.
Performance:
Ziox Astra 4G is powered by 1 GB RAM and runs on 1.3Ghz Quad Core processor which is a decent configuration for this price range. It will give a tough competition to Lyf Flame devices which also have 1 GB RAM.
Software:
To our surprise, Ziox Astra 4G runs on the Android Marshmallow (6) which is amazing for this budget.
Camera:
Ziox Astra 4G is equipped withaverage cameras on both the sides, but they are good for the budget. Ziox Astra 4G has a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash. It supports digital zoom and HDR. There is no phase detection autofocus in this phone. The images have the maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 Pixels. You can record videos with this phone, but we are not sure about the quality and pixels yet.
The front camera is a 2MP camera which lacks both autofocus and LED flash. It supports video calling.
Storage:
Ziox Astra 4G has an internal memory of 8GB which is okay as per the price of the device. The memory is expandable upto 32GBonly. It also has a dedicated memory card slot and doesn’t use hybrid SIM slot.
Battery:
Ziox Astra 4G is powered by 2,450mAh li-on battery. The battery is also good for this price. Even some mid-range phones come with the same 2,500mAH battery. This phone doesn’t support fast charging. It has a very good feature of having a removable battery, which will be liked by many users and is missing in most of the phones these days.
Connectivity:
Ziox Astra 4G is a dual SIM phone. This device is 4G enabled and supports 4G VOLTE in only one SIM. It is the cheapest Android device that supports 4G VOLTE. The second SIM supports only 2G. It has usual connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and mobile hotspot. We are not sure about FM radio yet. This device uses micro USB 2.0. It also supports 21 regional languages.
Price:
The Ziox Astra 4G price in India is expected to beRs3999 making it the cheapest Android VOLTE phoneever available in the country.
The verdict:
Ziox Astra 4G is targeted at the low-range market and is an inexpensive 4G smartphone with decent configuration. It is VOLTE enabled and has an average display. It is a great phone for those who want to use Reliance JIO or any 4G but don’t have the budget to buy mid-range 4G phones. This phone can also be used as a secondary phone. The specifications are not compromised and really good for this price.
