Shimla,  Severe cold continued to grip Himachal Pradesh Thursday as higher reaches experienced a fresh spell of snow.The weather office here forecast more snow Friday in the state, including in Shimla town. Shimla, which was cloudy throughout the day, recorded a minimum of 2.7 degrees Celsius.
“The high hills in Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts have been experiencing light to moderate snowfall since this (Thursday) afternoon,” Manmohan Singh, director of the meteorological office here, told IANS.
Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest place in the state with the minimum temperature going down to 16.6 degrees Celsius below freezing point, nine notches below what is average for this time of the season.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district saw a low of minus 4 degrees Celsius, while it was 1.2 degrees Celsius at Bhuntar in Kullu district and 3.1 degrees Celsius at Dharamsala.
“There is a possibility of light snow early Friday in Shimla,” Singh added.
