The Golden Isles is a popular attraction near both Georgia and Florida. The isles are made up of four islands and the mainland region of Historic Brunswick off of Georgia. There are many different things that you can do when you visit.
The Golden Isles literally offer something for everybody. There are wonderful shopping centers and the isles have some wonderful places to go dining. Here are some things that you can try.
Activities for Adventurists and Environmentalists
The Golden Isles are a great place for people who enjoy traveling outdoors. Many people enjoy swimming in the warm, subtropical waters or taking in rays of sun on the beautiful Florida coasts. However, there are plenty of things you can do if you aren’t interested in spending a day at the beach.
The Golden Isles also have a number of beautiful marshes that you can visit. There is a wide variety of wildlife that you can enjoy viewing. There are also hundreds of different species of birds along the Isles. In fact, three quarters of the birds in Georgia flock to the Golden Isles each year, making it one of the best bird watching destinations in the southern United States.
There are also many great trails for people who enjoy hiking or biking, including hundreds of miles of bike paths along St. Simons and Jekyll Islands.
Modern Pleasures
There are plenty of activities for people who don’t want to spend their time outdoors. The Golden Isles has a number of popular places to go bowling. The two most popular bowling alleys are Bowlarama and the Golden Isles Strike Zone, both of which are located in Brunswick.
You can also check out some of the luxurious health and day spas. These can be a great place to get a workout or have a more relaxing experience. There are more than a dozen great places you may want to check out. You can try Curves or Anytime Fitness if you want to hit the nautilus machines for your morning workout. Alternatively, there are five different spas that you may want to look at.
You can also spend the day outside while still doing activities without venturing into the wilderness. The Golden Isles have several great golf courses you can try. They have traditional golf, miniature golf and disc golf.
There are also a few awesome waterparks that you can check out. The biggest is Neptune Park Fun Zone, which is located in St. Simons Island. Another popular waterpark on Jekyll Island is Summer Waves Water Park.
The Golden Isles are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Florida. This is a great place to hold a wedding or group event.
