Who is Kane?
WWE superstar, Glen Jacobs also known as Kane, was born on April 26, 1968, in Madrid Spain. He was trained by Ray Candy and Dean Malenko. He made his pro debut in either 1993 or 1994. The early part of his career was marred by horrible gimmicks including the Christmas Creature (a wrestling Christmas tree), Dr. Isaac Yankem DDS, and Fake Diesel.
Despite rumors and storylines, he is not related to the Undertaker or Paul Bearer, never married Lita, knew a Katie Vick, and only Glen Jacobs has played the part of Kane (with a few exceptions that were later revealed).
Kane – The Secret Revealed:
After several months of threatening the Undertaker about a dark secret, Paul Bearer let the world know that Undertaker killed his family in a fire but his brother was still alive.
At the first Hell in a Cell match, Kane made his debut by costing Undertaker a match with Shawn Michaels. Undertaker refused to fight Kane until he was burnt alive in a coffin at Royal Rumble 98.
Kane – The Never Ending Feud:
Kane and The Under-Taker fought for the first time at Wrestlemania 14. Prior to this match, Kane attacked Pete Rose for the first of 3 consecutive WrestleMania attacks on Pete. The Kane vs. Undertaker feud has been on-and-off again ever since. Sometimes the Undertaker is the bad guy and sometimes Kane is the bad guy. They seem to turn on one another and become friends again on a regular basis.
Kane – What is Continuity?:
When Kane appeared, he wore a mask and had sleeves to hide his disfigurement from the fire.
He also was unable to speak without the aid of a voice box. Today, Kane wrestles without a mask or shirt on and can speak. In addition, he used to be dim-witted and continually threatened with being put in a mental asylum. Details of his physical and mental healing have never been revealed.

Kane Feuds With Triple H and Shane McMahon:
In late 2002, Triple H revealed that Kane murdered his ex-girlfriend Katie Vick.

A few months later, Triple H beat Kane in a match where he had to unmask. Kane went insane and started to set people on fire and even beat up Linda McMahon. Her son, Shane, came to her rescue in one of the worst written feuds ever.
Lowlights included Shane getting a car battery attached to his testicles and Kane falling into a burning dumpster and being unmarked the next week.
Kane A Bizarre Love Triangle:
Lita slept with Kane to keep him from beating up her boyfriend Matt Hardy. He wound up getting her pregnant and won her hand in marriage by beating Matt.
A few weeks later, Gene Snitsky caused Lita to have a miscarriage. This event seemed to bring them closer together, but Lita wound up being with Edge when details of their real-life relationship caused Matt Hardy to be fired.
Kane, The Big Show, and May 19:
These giants were brought together by a Taboo Tuesday vote. That night they won the tag team titles. Combined, they are almost 14 feet tall and weigh close to 1,000 pounds.
The tag team broke up because Kane went insane when he heard the words May 19, which is the release date of his first movie, See No Evil. That movie, while not a critical success, has proven to be a commercial success.
Kane ECW and World Heavyweight Champion in Less Than a Minute:
Prior to the start of WrestleMania XXIV, Kane won a battle royal that earned him an ECW title shot at the event. He won the title from Chavo Guerrero in the shortest match in WrestleMania history.
He lost the title a few months later to Mark Henry in a triple threat match that also included the Big Show.
His history of quick title victories was repeated in 2010. At Money in the Bank 2010, he won a Money in the Bank ladder match and a few hours later won the World Heavyweight Championship from Rey Mysterio in a match that also lasted less than a minute.
Kane Political career – Mayor of Tennessee
Jacobs speaking at a political conference hosted by Campaign for Liberty in Alexandria, Virginia in 2014
Jacobs is actively involved in libertarian politics and publishes his views via a blog. Jacobs supported Texas Congressman Ron Paul for President in 2008.
He is a member of the Free State Project and delivered a speech at the organization’s 2009 New Hampshire Liberty Forum.
He has also spoken at the Ludwig von Mises Institute,an anarcho-capitalist think-tank for promoting the Austrian school of economics.
In an interview with The Tom Woods Show libertarian podcast, Jacobs mentioned Woods, Harry Browne, Ron Paul, John Stossel, Peter Schiff and Murray Rothbard as his political influences and stated he is “theoretically a Rothbardian”, but does not believe that a stateless society would be achieved in his lifetime.
Some Tea Party affiliated groups attempted to recruit Jacobs to run in the 2014 Republican U.S. Senate primary in Tennessee against Sen. Lamar Alexander.
In May 2016, Jacobs said he was “seriously considering” a run as a Republican for the Knox County mayoral seat in 2018, but would make a final decision after the 2016 presidential election.[226] In March 2017, Jacobs announced that he was officially running for the mayoral seat of Knox County as a Republican.
On May 1, 2018, Jacobs won the Republican primary election for the mayoral seat of Knox County, Tennessee.
On August 2, 2018, Jacobs was elected Mayor.
