Some movie stars simply died too soon and here are some of them:

Heath Ledger

Heath Andrew Ledger passed away on January 2008 when he was only 28. The Australian actor went to Sydney, Australia at the age of 17, with less than one dollar in his pocket. He started to take multiple minor roles in the local TV series and his big break started in Two Hands, an Australian crime thriller. He also has a part in 10 Things I Hate About You. His hard work finally paid off and in Brokeback Mountain, he earned BAFTA and Oscar nomination. He passed away due to accidental overdose of pain killers, anti anxiety and sleeping pills.

Brad Renfro

Brad Renfro died just a week before Heath Ledger’s death. He made an acting debut at 11, along with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon in the “Client”. He was arrested and charged for the possession of drugs in December 2005 and sentenced 3 years of probation. He failed to enrol a long-term treatment program and broke his probation in 2007. After a night of partying, Brad Renfro died of an unknown cause in January 2008. He was 25.

River Phoenix

Joaquin’s older brother died on October 1993 and was a one-time Oscar nominee. The cause was found to be cocaine and heroin overdose. He was 23 years old when he fell outside the Viper Room and probably passed away when the paramedics arrived to the scene.

James Dean

James Byron Dean is a two-time Oscar nominee and one of them posthumous. Giant, East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause shot his status to stardom. Dean has a huge passion for racing cars and he constantly races in Bakersfield and Palm Springs. Dean participated in another race in California, in September 1955. He used a Porsche, nicknamed the Little Bastard. The car was originally planned to be brought on a trailer, but he decided to drive the car himself. It was a fateful decision and his car crashed head on with a 1950 Ford Custom Tudor. His mechanic, Rolf, who was in the same car, survived the crash; but Dean was pronounced dead. He died at the age of 24. Rolf would live until 1981, when he would eventually died due to another car crash.

John Candy

John Candy was a Canadian comedy legend and first appeared in a local TV show. His memorable movie appearance was with Tom Hanks in Splash. Candy’s typical portrayal in the film is as a lovable loser with bad luck. In 1994, John Candy died of heart attack.

Bruce and Brandon Lee

The father and son both died too soon, before reaching the peak of their career. Bruce Lee passed away in 1973 due to cerebral edema, when he was only 32. He has become a household name in the martial arts film industry and some believed that Bruce faked his own death, Brandon Lee died even sooner and he was also a martial arts practitioner. The Crow (1993) was Brandon’s first major role and faulty prop gun caused his death, when he was only 28.
